The Chairman, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam has obtained copies of the nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressive Congress, APC for the governorship position of Ebonyi State.

Mbam is the first to pick the form worth Fifty Million Naira (N5000000.00) despite the endorsement of the embattled Speaker of the State House of Assembly Francis Nwifuru by the Governor, David Umahi during a burial ceremony of the father to the commissioner for Trade and investment, Mrs Chioma Nweze at Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the State.

Mbam, in a message to his supporters, said he has already developed a blueprint, titled The Ebonyi Dream, to lift the State out of its present poverty level.

He said that the 2019 National Bureau of Statistics (NBC) poverty index of states that scored Ebonyi 87.02 per cent with poor citizens revealed a startling reality of the state’s poverty level, and would work to ensure that this is reversed between two to four years of his administration as governor.

The news of Chief Mbam’s purchase of nomination form was made public on Facebook by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Obinna Udenwe. His statement reads
“For all Engr. Elias Nwalem Mbam’s supporters, APC faithful and Ebonyians in general, we wish to inform you that it is official.

“Engr. Elias Mbam has today purchased the nomination form to run for governor of Ebonyi state. This past week has been a wonderful one for us – filled with heart warming news, everywhere, even though to many bystanders in Ebonyi, concerned about what was going on, there seemed to be darkness, but for us, we knew that everything was working for good.

“We assure Ebonyi people, especially those who were thrown into despondency with the recent event of past days, to put a smile on their faces, for the Egyptians we see today, we shall see no more!”

This was in reaction to the endorsement of the Speaker by Governor Umahi which has created mixed feelings across the state, with many expressing concern that the speaker is being foisted on the people by the Governor.
