Taraba Set for May Day celebration as NLC boss sang solidarity song for Gov. Kefas

Ahead of today’s May Day celebrations, the Taraba State Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has stated that it is set for the epoch making event schedule to take place at Jolly Nyame Sport Complex Jalingo.

 Speaking to our correspondent in Jalingo on Tuesday on the preparedness, the state chairman of the Nigeria labour congress, Comdr Peter Jediel, said arrangements towards the May 1ST  anniversary had been concluded as members of the union are busy putting final touches to ensure a hitch free May day anniversary.

He revealed that the state Gov. Dr. Agbu Kefas deserved commendation of all civil servants in Taraba pointing out that the Gov. has addressed issue of all minimum wages, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pension as well as ongoing payment of gratuity of retired state pension workers from 2010 to date.

Comdr Jediel noted that the significant change currently experiencing in the state was first of  its kind since Taraba was created in 1991 and urged civil servants to support the present administration and avoid acts capable of truncating the lofty process.

The event which is expected to commence by 8:00am Wednesday according to the labour boss will have Gov. Kefas and members of his executive councils in attendance. 

Other expected dignitaries including the speaker and legislative members of the house of assembly, top civil servants, retired and serving civil servants as well as market traders and general public will grace the occasion.

He however appealed to workers in the state to come out en-mass for the march process and appreciated members of the committee of the anniversary for hard work.
