Aduda, Sokodabo, Jiba emerge PDP senatorial, Reps candidates in FCT

The incumbent Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Philip Aduda has won the PDP senatorial candidate to contest for the same position for the fourth time in the 2023 elections.

Announcing the results, the chairman electoral committee of the party, Aminu Suleiman Gwada,  said Aduda polled 190 votes to emerge the winner after two other aspirants stepped down.

The FCT Residents Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who led six other INEC officers of the six area councils to monitor the primaries, affirmed that the primaries were held in accordance with the commission’s laid down procedures. 

In his speech, Senator Philip Aduda who will be contesting for the fourth time, appreciated members of the party’s electoral committee for ensuring peaceful primaries.

However, the incumbent member representing AMAC/Bwari federal constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the House of Representatives, Micah Jiba also won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election to contest for the seat in the forth coming elections.

Jiba polled all the 68 votes from the delegates to defeat two other aspirants, Onyogu Raymond and Abdurahman Ismaila, who both scored zero vote.

While appreciating the delegates who voted for him, said that he will work with everybody in his constituency, irrespective of who contested against him or supported him.

Ms. Olubunmi Oguntebiji, secretary National Electoral Committee of the party, who announced the results, said the process was transparent and met the laid down procedures.

For Abuja South House of Representatives, the incumbent Hassan Sokodabo was declared winner by the electoral chairman, Aminu Gwada.

He said Sokodabo polled seventy- two votes to pick the party ticket against his closet rival, Alhaji Mustapha Adamu Danze who scored twenty-six votes.

Other aspirants that were floored by the incumbent include Mr. Ibrahim Daniel kwali who is a former Chairman of Kwali Area council and one MD Jigo.
