2023:  Dobi wins APC Senatorial ticket for FCT

Former House of Representatives member for Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada and Kuje Federal Constituency, Hon. Zakari Angulu Dobi has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Dobi who floored three other aspirants to emerged as the party’s candidate for 2023 election, polled 277 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mrs Adebayo Benjamins – Laniyi with 28 votes.

Others include Bitrus Zaphania Jisalo and Jibrin Wowo, who got one vote each during the primary held at Women Development Centre in the central Business District of Abuja.

Shortly after his victory, Dobi promised to entrench good governance if elected to represent the people of the FCT at the National Assembly come 2023.

He called on all his fellow contestants and party chieftains, stakeholders and party stalwarts to come together to support the APC and his candidature to salvage the people of the territory.

The APC Senatorial Candidate urged the residents to give him the mandate to pilot the affairs of the FCT in the red chamber of the National Assembly.

Dobi was a two-term Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman and Former House of Representatives member from 2015 to 2019 for the Abuja South Federal Constituency.

He is the former Mandate Secretary, FCT Transportation Secretariat, from November 2021 to May 2022 before he resigned to contest the APC primary.
