Appointments in AMAC reflect Six geopolitical zones – Maikalangu

By Daniel Tyokua

The chairman Abuja Municipal  Area Council (AMAC) Hon. Christopher Maikalangu has disclosed that all the appointments his administration was making reflect the Six geopolitical zones of the country.

He stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of seven supervisory councillors and seven aides that he had approved their appointment so far.

Maikalangu said the appointments was also  in line with the expectations of the electorate and the administration’s readiness to fast track development.

In a statement issued by the chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Ephraim Audu,  said the exercise followed screening by the legislative arm of the council.

Maikalangu advised the  appointees to be creatively ingenious and exhibit a high level of maturity, discipline and diligence in the discharge of their duties.

The Chairman added that while they assume different portfolios,  they must work extra mile to prove their skeptics and naysayers wrong.

While warning them against any form of discrimination, the Council Chairman reminded them to carry everyone along and also be focused and upright.

He told new Advisers and Councillors that they should not in anyway see themselves as superhuman and must note that they were selected out of multitude of other qualified members of the PDP family. He therefore charged them to be loyal to the party and reciprocate the confidence reposed on them reminding them also that to whom much is given, much is also expected.

While appealing to party faithful especially the women for more patience and understanding.
