Ona of Abaji backs APOSUN on POS regulation

The Ona of Abaji and Chairman FCT council of Traditional rulers, Alhaji Adamu Yunusa Baba has assured the Association of Point of Sales Users in Nigeria (APOSUN) on the regulation of Point of Sales operators across the territory and beyond.

He stated this when the leadership of the association paid him a courtesy visit at the weekend, in his Palace.

Ona said there was the need for regulation and training of POS operators to curb fraudulent activities that impact on them negatively.

The traditional ruler explained that most of the operators lack the requisite knowledge of the business, thereby falling into the hands of criminal elements.

“With coming of APOSUN,  POS activities will be more organised, if it is well organize both users and operators will gain better.

“They need training, if they are well train the whole process will work well. We are going to inform all the traditional rulers to work with the association to ensure sanity in POS business across the Federal Capital Territory”

On his part, the chairman Board of Trustee (BoT), Barr. Ibrahim Abdullahi who led other officials to the Ona’s Palace, said the group was out to instill discipline in the operation and curb fraudulent activities.

According to Abdullahi, kidnappers and bandits carry out their transactions through POS which adulterate the system but with registration illegal activities will be easily  halted.

He said the association started it awareness and visitation in the Nation’s capital, Abuja considering the city as the seat of power and the impact on the country.

“We have weigh the impact and strength of Ona, and believe that as chairman of the Traditional rulers in FCT, our message will be well past to the appropriate quarters. With the royal blessing it will be well understood in all communities”
