In as much as there is emerging credible opposition in the politics of Enugu state ahead of the 2023 General elections, PDP which is the ruling party in the state, is most likely to maintain it’s stronghold of the grass root and governance of the state, based on the pedigree and quality of it’s candidates for the election. Barr.Dr Peter Mbah,who finally emerged as the governorship candidate of the party is a proven industrialist in the private sector,who has promised to bring his experience and exposure to bear in gingering socio economic development of Enugu state.
The emergence of technocrats in Enugu state politics ahead of the 2023 general elections mirrors down to Enugu West senatorial district of the state,where proven professional engineers are expecting to fast track and initiate new pace of development of the zone if eventually they are successful in the general election. They are no other persons than Engr Osita Ngwu,who won the PDP senatorial primary election of Enugu West district and Engr Anayo Onwuegbu, the PDP candidate for Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency.
Engr Osita Ngwu,who equally is coming from the private sector boasts to be the highest private sector employer of labour in Enugu state, after the Nigerian breweries ltd,located at 9th mile axis of the state. Engr Ngwu,who is the CEO of one of the most luxurious recreation establishments in Enugu state known as ‘Debase Event Center’ also owns a flourishing bakery industry that produces bread and debase water distilling factory.
He disclosed that he has over six hundred employees in his monthly pay roll as a private investor,stating his experience in the industrial sector will motivate him in gingering industrial revolution in Enugu West district,if he eventually he is elected.
Similarly,Engr Dr Anayo Onwuegbu, the PDP candidate for Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency who is very versatile in the construction industry with diverse experience in Water Irrigation, Erosion control,road construction, among others, is the Chief executive/Managing Director of ANBEEZ services ltd,one of the leading indigenous construction firms in the country. From all indications, Engr Onwuegbu will enhance socio economic development of his federal constituency[Aninri/Awgu/Oji River local government areas] especially in the rural communities as part of his constituency project.
His company,ANBEEZ services ltd currently has Nigerians cut across tribe under it’s employ in it’s various base camps of the company in the Northern and Southern parts of the country. Engr Onwuegbu has consistently contributed meaningfully to the socio economic and political growth of Enugu state in the past two decades.
From all indications, Engr Onwuegbu’s new feather as the next Federal lawmaker of Aninri/Awgu/Ojj River federal constituency from 2023 will amount to a consolidation of his humanitarian services ,bringing his experience to bear in gingering more rural infrastructures across the communities in his district while contributing his best in the process of law making at the green chamber.
In addition, Dr. Festus Uzor, the PDP candidate for Udi/Ezeagu Federal constituency, based on his experience as an administrator in the act of governance, obviously will make good representation of his Udi/Ezeagu federal constituency, which is part of Enugu West senatorial district. Dr. Uzor, who is currently the Chief of Staff to Enugu state governor, Rt Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is equally a grass root mobilizer and through team work with Engr Osita Ngwu and Engr Dr Anayo Onwuegbu,will endear more developmental projects across Enugu West senatorial district, to consolidate on the giant strides of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Hon Toby Okechukwu [Aninri/Awgu/Oji River] and Hon Oguerinwa [Udi/Ezeagu] who are currently holding the pace for Enugu West district, but will pave way new political leaders for the zone in 2023.
