A two time member of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Benson Nwawulu has been abducted by gunmen.
The former lawmaker sources claimed was abducted in his Ihiala family house.
The abducted former lawmaker who is in his seventies was also a former chairman of Ogbaru Local Goverment Area of the state.
Hon Benson Nwawulu took an unsuccessful shot at the House of Representatives in 2019 before retiring to his Ihiala community.
Family source who will not want to be mentioned said that the son of the abducted former lawmaker has reached out to the colleagues of his father who promised to pay whatever ransom demanded by the gunmem.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Anambra State command, Tochukwu Ikenga (DSP) has confirmed the abduction of the former legislator.
Ikenga said that efforts have been intensified to track down the abductors of the lawmaker, he however solicited useful information from the members of the public that will assist in apprehending the criminals.
