NGO takes moral & civic education to the grassroots in FCT

A nongovernmental organisation – Morals Path To Follow Foundation – has commenced training on morals and civic knowledge for pupils and students in Zauda community in Dei-Dei, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The training is part of the objectives of the foundation towards checking increasing rate of moral decadence in the country, said the Foundation’s focal programme instructor in Abuja, Miss Miracle Nnaji.

During the flag-off of the training, she called on the children to be committed towards the lectures as it would be relevant in their lives now and in the future.

Miss Nnaji explained that the target of the project was to ensure that children received basic morals and civic education early in life to become better citizens.

The Coordinator of the Foundation, Mr. Chikezie Allwell, Chinkata, disclosed that at the end of the training, participants would be given a special examination for award of scholarship to those who performed excellently in the programme.

Mr. Chinkata said the gesture was meant to encourage people in the area to be of commendable character always, no matter the situation they found themselves.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman, board of trustees of the Foundation, General Collins Ihekire, encouraged the resource persons in the project to be committed towards promoting the ideals of the Foundation.

General Ihekire, noted that the Foundation would continue to uphold morals and civic responsibilities that would enhance development of the society.

Over 30 pupils and students participated in the first day of the ongoing training.
