By Emma Okereh

The first son of the late chief priest of Agua community in Edo State, Mr Stanley Emonyon is on the run over his refusal to take over his father’s throne as the chief priest after the death of his father as tradition demands.

The fleeing Emonyon, is expected to take over from his late father as tradition demands. The age long tradition has been in place over years in Agua community, Edo State.

The Authority gathered that the community has sworn that the age long tradition must be upheld even as it is against the faith and fundamental rights of Mr Emonyon.

According to the community leader, there’s no way he will not take the throne as the first born of the Chief Priest as the tradition demands.

The Authority further gathered that the ceremony involves all kinds of fetish ritual.

Due to his refusal to accept the office as the Chief Priest, his house was burnt down and his family are nowhere to be found as they are equally on the run

According to sources, the youths of the community have been mandated to fish out Mr Stanley Emonyon or his first son dead or alive insisting that the tradition must be fulfilled.
