APC National Integrity Movement Berates Group calling For the Resignation of Gov. Yahaya Bello As Tinubu/Shettima Youth Co-ordinator

The All Progressives Congress (APC), National Integrity Movement (ANIM), has described as malicious and unreasonable, the call by a group for the resignation of Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi, as National Youth coordinator of Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

According to a publication, a coalition of 300 youth groups in Nigeria, under the aegis of Presidential Support Council (PSC), has demanded the resignation of Gov. Bello, as the National Youths Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

Tinubu was reported to have recently approved the appointment of the Kogi governor to lead the Nigerian youths in his presidential campaign.

The National Leader of the youth groups, Dr. Kassim Muhammad, reportedly made the demand when he addressed a News Conference in Lafia.

According to Muhammad, the groups are skeptical about the governor’s role in the APC presidential campaign, alleging that the governor was the only person that had kicked against the zoning of the 2023 presidency by the APC to the southern part of the country.

But in a swift reaction, ANIM, through its National Leader, Sadiq Fakai, said the group’s claims were unfounded, malicious and devoid of any substance.

Fakai said Governor Yahaya Bello, more than any governor, had set a track record as the most youth and women friendly governor.

He therefore noted that no sponsored cheap propaganda could taint the governor’s record because his achievements and contributions to youth development in Nigeria were there for all to see.

ANIM charged youths, especially those who were working to ensure that APC emerged victorious, to disregard lies and fallacies by sponsored agents to bring division and disharmony among them.

ANIM said Tinubu could not have picked a better man to do the job than Governor Yahaya Bello.

The group said it would however, continue to work for the progress and victory of the APC, and urged all the party’s support groups to do same and not engage in cheap antics that would jeopardise APC’s chances of winning in the coming elections.
