New Permanent Secretary, EPO assumes office, pledges dedication, loyalty

Mallam Ibrahim Shehu, has assumed office as the Permanent Secretary, Ecological Project Office (EPO), with a commitment to service delivery.

At the handing-over ceremony held at EPO office in Abuja, he appreciated the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha for his appointment.

He further pledged his dedication and loyalty to the job, assuring that his most recent assignment as Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs has prepared him for the new task.

He also appreciated the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi- Esan for, “Finding it right to deploy me to EPO at this time”, stating that he will continue to be” guided under her mentor ship” and do his outmost best to deliver on his assignment.

He commended the immediate past Permanent Secretary who is now the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Dr. Habiba Lawal, for the enormous effort she put into the office during her tenure with outstanding and evidential achievements recorded including the launch of the compendium.

He assured the Management and Staff of EPO of his readiness to work as a colleague and as a family without biases.

He promised to study the handing over notes to have a full grasp of the workings of the office and get clarification where necessary.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Lawal admonished the staff to give the Permanent Secretary the necessary cooperation that would enhance the provision of the desired leadership, noting that the Permanent Secretary is competent, resourceful and well able to manage the office.

Speaking earlier, the outgoing Director, overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Famous Eseduwo, said he is grateful for the opportunity to have served in the capacity for the period of time.

He said the handing over notes will provide the Permanent Secretary with the required information during his overseeing capacity.

In attendance at the event were EPO Directors and also Directors and Management staff of the Political and Economic Affairs Office.
