The chairman of Kano Municipal Local Government Area, Honourable Faizu Alfindiki, has installed fortified security gates at strategic locations within the Council as part of efforts to ensure security of lives and property within Kano metropolis.
Kano Municipal Council covers the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, including residents of notable personalities, as well as government-owned facilities.
The security gadgets purchased with millions of Naira, are being installed to help security agents in the fight against crime within Kano metropolis.
Honourable Alfindiki who conducted journalists round the locations where the fortified gates were installed, said the project is ongoing, as his Council is committed towards protecting the welfare of the people.
According to him, Kano Municipal is home to millions of residents that conduct legitimate business within around the metropolis, adding that, “it is incumbent on us to take proactive safety measures. Our focus and attention is now on security and health.”
He further stated that the Council leadership is also engaging in massive evacuation of drainage across the city, “the evacuation exercise is tagged: ‘Lungu Kal Kal,’ and was designed for the health benefits of residents.
“We have the people’s mandate that has made it expedient for us to identify with their needs, and so far we are doing our best as example for metropolitan governance.”
He, therefore, urged residents to cooperate with government on areas of security for sustainable development and welbeing of the people.
