ISMPH advocates sustained peace globally

By Hassan Zaggi

The Executive Director and Founder of the International Society of Media in Public Health (ISMPH), Chief Mrs Moji Makanjuola, has urged the entire humanity to embrace peace, noting that, “Peace is a collective effort. Let’s embrace peace”.

In a statement to mark the celebration of the International Day of Peace, she stressed that peace begins with efforts from individuals and  that it is the way to protect ones mental health in the midst of global wars and insecurity.

“Peace begins with each and every one of us.  It translates to mental health for all of us. There is so much insecurity, strife and wars that do not augur well for the generations that will succeed us all,” says Chief Moji Makanjuola.

She stressed that maintaining peace is  a duty that is binding on everyone,  which according to her, will be of help to the mental disposition of everyone around us.

“We owe humanity a duty of peace to reign around us. A duty to achieve global peace by helping the mental disposition of all around us,” Chief Moji noted.

While calling for collective efforts to ensure peace reigns globally, the ISMPH Executive Director said: “What are you doing to improve mental health around you by bringing peace to our world? Peace is a collective effort. Let’s embrace peace as we celebrate another International Day of Peace.”

The ‘International Day of Peace’ which was established in 1981 is observed on September 21 around the world.
