The Federal Capital Territory Administration, Health and Human Services Secretariat has inaugurated drug revolving fund committee in the territory.
During the inauguration, the FCT
Mandated Secretary, Dr Abubakar Tafida said the communitee is expected to roll out policies that would make the system drives well.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Samuel Musa, said the team would help in rolling out the policy as part of ownership and sustainability, the Health and Human Services Secretariat with collaboration and technical support from USAID GHSC-PSM program conducted Health facilities DRF readiness assessment in preparation for the take up of the revitalise DRF scheme in the FCT.
He directed the Department of Pharmacical services ( DPS-HHSS ) to inaugurate the DRF In–state Team immediately after a Two weeks intensive Training supported by Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Chain of United State Agency of International Development
The Mandate Secretary represented by Boniface Ikwu, the Director FCT Department of Pharmaceutical Services, stated that the inauguration is part of the plans the Secretariat is making for the revitalization of the drug revolving fund in all health facilities in the territory .
He said under the new system, District drug distribution centres will be built in order to increase access , availability of quality medicines in the territory.
