A passionate appeal has been made to the Inspector General of police, Attorney General of the Federation and all other relevant bodies as far as justice and fairness are concerned in the country to intervene in the present situation in which Alhaji Ikra Bilbis, a former minister in the federal republic of Nigeria found himself.
The appeal was made by a group of concerned citizens under the aegis of comrade Sagir Hafiz who briefed our reporter in Gusau capital of zamfara state recently.
They expressed concern over the situation and explained that there is no point in the continuation of his detention considering the fact that he is a responsible man who had never been indicted. According to the concern citizens the former ministers continued detention in the prison has gone beyond politics, “because in every offence or court case, there is room for bail, but in the case of Ikra, we have not seen that as the condition was too extreme.
Concerned citizens went further to express their dismay with regard to the non-challant attributes of the government of the state under the ruling APC, describing it as cowardism. All they fear is defeat and definitely they are going to be defeated at the polls, because this is only an intimidation as it dawned on them that this time around their party will not deliver. Everyone is tired of this government, even the people of maradun where the governor hails from and embarking on the arrest of prominent personalities across the state will not serve and does not augar well as far as democracy is concerned. We all know that democrat is all about development, so instead of arresting people as part of campaign, one should publicly make it clear to the people he rules of what he did for them, and not to confuse himself in doing what is not supposed to be done and which will actually consume him,” the concerned citizens revealed.
Commenting further, the group disclosed that the ruling APC in zamfara should forget about government house come 2023 because already, strong indications have emerged that PDP the main opposition party in the state is heading to the land of success as it will beat the present ruling APC hands down at the polls by the grace of God.
The further minister who is also the senatorial candidate under the opposition PDP zamfara central senatorial district, has become a threat to both the governor and the other candidate under APC there is no doubt that the entire people of the state are fed up of this administration, an administration that is being ran by mostly under aged persons and this is the pattern the PDP wants to change and we challenge any reasonable person to show us anything tangible done by the present government about 44 months of its stay in office.
