Don’t give up on securing Abuja, Minister urges security agencies

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Muhammad Bello has urged key security personnel in the nation’s capital, Abuja not to give up on securing the residents and property.

He said despite the hectic task of enforcing sanity in strategic locations in the city, security men sustain the spirit.

Bello, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Ikharo Attah during an event to mark the end of 2022, commended them for making the FCT administration proud.

He said it would had been tough for the city managers to succeed in running the affairs of the city without the security men.

According to him: “I invited you to say thank you, and tell you that I’m eternally grateful, you people have done noble for the city, we are very pleased with your enforcement style and security cover.

“You have done very well and history will be kind to you. The Minister is proud of your work. And he said, is so committed to enforcement aimed at ensuring the cleanliness and security of the city.

“The Minister is determined to see that we go through and achieve the desired result of keeping the city clean.

“It is a thing of joy when we work and succeed together at any level; Command and Control, Abuja Environmental Protection Board, Development Control Department, DRTS, Social Development Secretariat (SDS) and the JTF component. We may not have agreed on everything, but we have succeeded on every front. And our success lies in everyone here and beyond”

In his remarks, the Secretary, FCT Command and Control, Peter Olumuji, thanked the Minister for what he described as a lifetime opportunity, as some of them may not have such opportunity again to contribute to the development and management of the city.

Similarly, Head of Enforcement AEPB, Kaka Bello, reiterated that there is no inter agency rivalry in the discharge of their duties, as reflected in the harmonious working relationship that enabled to the job well.

Kaka urged the stakeholders to ensure that they keep the fire burning untill the objective is achieved.
