Nigerian youths must continue to demand good governance – NYV President

The National Youth Vanguard (NYV) has urged Nigerian Youths to continue to demand for good governance from political office holders.

National Youth Vanguard is a network of over 72 Youth oriented Civil Society Organizations across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory to aggregate and articulate the voices of young people for good governance.

NYV President Comrade, Abdulrahman Olawale made the call, while presenting the group’s 2022 Public Service Personality award to the Director of Procurement, National Productivity Centre, Dr. Mustapha Raji, recently in Abuja.

Comrade Olawale described NYV and other Youth Organizations across the country as partners in progress to governments at all levels.

He said ” And as partners, we must not be discouraged by some of the things that are happening in our nation. As Youths, we must remain resilient in our quest for good governance, and service delivery in public service and across the nation.

” This why we are here today, to honor and celebrate productivity. Dr. Mustapha Raji has done wonderfully well in his place of work and he has added value to public service via his activities at National Productivity Centre.

” NYV received about 5 nominations for this award. However, after discreet and diligent assessment through our in-house indicator for measurement, Dr. Mustapha Raji emerges as the winner of our 2022 Public Service Personality award for his impeccable character, professional conduct, integrity, and the right attitude to work.

NYV President said the award encourages public servants to be up and doing, to encourage Dr. Raji to contribute more to the development of Nigeria.

In his remarks, the recipient Director of Procurement, National Productivity Centre commended NYV, adding that “the youths must remain focused and committed to the development of Nigeria”.

Dr. Raji noted that ” as Civil Society Organizations, Youth leaders, Public Servants, and even business community we all have a role to play in developing Nigeria.

He continued ” so, at our various places of work and wherever we may find ourselves we must remain focused and committed to the development of Nigeria. We all have a role to play”.

On the award, Dr. Raji said “I want to thank you all. And I want to tell you that this wouldn’t have happened without the leadership we have at National Productivity Centre and the team I am working with”.

He dedicated the award to the Director General of the National Productivity Centre, Dr. Kashim Akor, and promise to do more that he has been doing that gained him recognition.
