President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Lagos on a two-day visit to commission an array of iconic projects, including the $1.5 billion Lekki Deep Seaport.
Here to commission what has been termed a “Lagos Festival of Projects”, Buhari touched down at 3:33pm and was received by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and members of the State Executive Council.
Governors Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, as well as service chiefs and All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, among others, also received.
He was welcomed at the Presidential Wing of the Lagos Airport with pomp and pageantry by the Lagos State Cultural Troupe.
Afterwards, he inspected the guard of honour at the Parade Ground before flying out in an helicopter to the projects sites.
During his two-day working visit, the president will commission the Lekki Deep Seaport, Lagos Rice Mill, Imota, 18.75km six-lane (expressway) Eleko-Epe rigid pavement, first phase of the Blue Light Rail from Mile 2 to Marina and the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History.
He will also commission a private project, the MRS Lubricant at Apapa.
