Yobe North: Angry mob attack Gov, Buni, at campaign ground

Supporters of Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at the weekend threw stones, other objects and made anti Governor Mai Mala Buni chants at the party’s Yobe North zonal campaign of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state,

The Governor was at the rally organized to celebrate the Supreme Court verdict that declared Lawan as the valid senatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for Yobe North in the National Assembly election.

The pro Lawan crowd it was gathered rose to protest, when Governor Buni stood up to deliver his speech with the angry supporters chanting slogans of rejection, ‘bwamayi bwamayi bwamaso in hausa language, meaning we don’t want you”.

It was gathered that Buni was booed because of his allaged role in Lawan struggle to retain his senate ticket afer running for the APC presidential ticket, which he among other 21 aspirantts lost to former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu

Governor Buni was said to have backed Lawan’s opponent, Bashir Machina, who was the APC candidate until the Supreme Court’s ruling.

The angry fans subsequently started throwing objects at the Governor and other guests at the podium, forcing the rally to a sudden end while the governor was whisked away by security operatives.

The supporters had earlier praised and welcome Lawan who spoke before the Governor.
