The Federal Government has reiterated it’s commitment towards making life conducive for citizens.

The Permanent Secretary, Ecological Project Office, Malam Shehu Ibrahim stated this when he led a team of the office and journalists to inspect ongoing projects in the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday.

The projects inspected are the erosion control and gully mitigation in Kuchingoro/Koronmajigi villages, inspection of Bridge, Culverts & Upgrading of Roads at Lugbe, Wasa-Gude access road and Garki gully and flood works.

At Koronmajigi, the team urged the residents to desist from dumping waste in the reconstructed gully.

According to Malam Ibrahim, “one of the major problems we had there is issue of our maintenance of the project as you can see yourself the community representative has assured me now that they have already formed like a Vanguard to be watching what happens here and ensure that the project is well kept.

“I’ve already informed them that if federal government will spend enormous amount of resources to undertake projects, and then you as the beneficiary community will not be able to maintain them. It means that you’re not encouraging them to come back to that same community.

Speaking at the Wasa-Gude access road, the Permanent Secretary noted that the project will help the residents evacuate farm produce to the cities and help reduce the hardship commuters face on the Nyanya-Keffi road.
