Kano: Use Of Covered Number Plates, Unregistered Vehicles,  Unauthorized Use Of Siren Against The Law—Says CP Mamman Dauda

Kano State Commissioner of Police,  Mr. Mamman Dauda, has reiterated that the  use of covered number plates,  unregistered vehicles and unauthorized use of siren is against the law in Kano,  warning that anyone or group of persons found falling short of it will be arrested and prosecuted.

He added that the laws prohibiting citizens from the above practices are still operational.

A Statement signed on his behalf by Kano State police Command spokesman,  Superintendent of Police,  Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa indicated that: “The Kano State Police Command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Dauda, psc(+) wishes to remind the good people of Kano State that the ban on the use of covered number plate, driving unregistered motor vehicles and unauthorize use of siren is still in force.

” Covering of number plates and driving unauthorize motor vehicles amount to a clear breach of the Road Traffic Act.

” This unwholesome practice may be deployed by some unscrupulous persons to commit crimes.

“The Commissioner of Police warns that anyone caught will be dealt with according to the provisions of the Law.

” The command call on the good people of the State to abide by Traffic Rules and Regulations.”
