Chinyeaka Ohaa did not participate in LP Senatorial primaries, says Aide.

From Maurice Okafor, Enugu.

An ally to Mr Chinyeaka Ohaa, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary from Enugu state, Chief Emeka Okeke, has debunked  reports flaunted in the social media purporting that their principal,Mr Ohaa, participated in Labour Party’s repeated party primaries to elect it’s flagbearer for the rescheduled  Enugu East Senatorial district election.

The LP fresh primaries to produce another candidate was necessitated by the ogruesomemurder of it’s initial candidate,Late Oyibo Chukwu, by yet to be identified gun men.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Emeka Okeke, who is head of operations in Odalije Group owned by Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa, said their boss is not even a member of Labour party and is outside the country at the moment. He described the social media reports as false and misleading.

He stated,”To set the record straight, Ohaa did not participate, neither should he have participated, nor would he ever participate in the Labour Party primaries for the selection of a candidate to take the place of Chukwu.

“At all material times, Ohaa remains a member of PDP and not the Labour Party”.

“It would be recalled that Sir Ohaa, to underscore his commitment to the noble ideals of PDP, besides being a member of PDP Presidential Campaign Council, converted his previous gubernatorial campaign office at 37, Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu, to Atiku Presidential Campaign Office for the 2023 Presidential Election”.

He stated further,”Ohaa, a loyal PDP man, is irrevocably committed to ensuring that Dr Peter Mba, the PDP Governorship Candidate and other PDP candidates, win the March 11, 2023, elections,” he said.

Okeke said that unknown to the purveyors of the fake news, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa was not even in Nigeria at the time of his purported participation.

He said: “He is presently in London to attend the ceremony for the enrollment of his son, Dr Kelechi Ohaa, to the (UK) Royal College of Surgeons of England billed for Monday, March 6.

“Against the foregoing backdrop, we wish, therefore, to state, in clear and unmistakable terms, that Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is not a member of the Labour Party and did not participate in any Labour Party primaries as stated in the unintelligent publication.”
