The Enugu state police command have confirmed the dead of two police men aftermath of a gun duel with yet to arrested unknown gun men.However,the police said they have recovered a dark coloured jeep car with blood stains used by the hoodlums.
A press statemenst issued by the Enugu state command public relations officer(PRO),DSP Dan Ndukwe,said that the ugly incident occurred at about 11.30am on Sunday,March 26,at Osadebey street,Uwani Enugu,off kenyatta market while they were on legitimate duty.
He revealed that a blood stained Jeep car(number not supplied) allegedly used by the suspects was recovered along Enugu to Port Harcout road,later in the day.
DSP Ndukwe said the state policevcommissioner,CP Amanni,has charged medical attendants and members of the public to avoid treating any body with bullet wounds, without the consent and clarification from his command.
According to him,CP Amanni instruction is consequent upon the fact that many of the suspects on the dark jeep escaped with bullet wounds. Meanwhile,the remains of the two police men who were killed by the yet to be identified unknown gun men,have been deposited in the mortuary,the state command PPRO,DSP Ndukwe, revealed.
