MSME generates about 75 percent of National Employment, says Minister, Trade and Industry.

……commends ECCIMA for organising 34th Enugu International trade fair.

The  Minister of Trade, Industry and Investments, Adeniyi Adebajo,said the federal government is doing all within it’s to support the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Scale enterprises in Nigeria, commending the sector as the highes provider of employment in the country at the moment.

He disclosed that the federal government is working out favourable policies and programmes that would enhance ease of doing businnesss for every trader  and  and persons involved in the sector.

The trade and investment minister,Adebayo,gave this hints in Enugu,at the opening ceremony of 34th Enugu International trade fair,which began on Saturday,March 25,at the permanent International trade fair complex site,located beside golf estate,off Enugu to Onitsha express way.

Adebayo who was represented by deputy director,Multi National of the ministry,Mr Sunday Jaja stated,

“This sector currently represents 96 percent of the businnesses in Nigeria and contributes 75 percent of National employment.Thus,growth in this sector is directly correlated with growth in the economy as a whole and in the level of employment through out Nigeria”.

He commended Enugu Chambers of Commerce,Mines and Agriculture(ECCIMA)for it’s consistent in organinising the annual event,especially for the series of innovations it introduced in the on going  34th edition of the fare.

Earlier in his speech,the current President of ECCIMA,Barr. Jasper Nduagwuike commendedvthe efforts of the 16th council of ECCIMA under his leadership thrived the  affairs of the organisation amidst all odds.

He stated, “It gladdens my heart that this occasion is holding despite the onerous odds that challenged it. These odds include the political situation in the country, the misadventure of the cashless policy which threw spanners into the works of every project”.

Nduagwuike stated further, “God who has been our help in ages past is still our hope for the years to come and i can assure you that things will always get better.

“So relax, network, consummate deals, and generally enjoy the ambience and hospitality of the coal city state. It is morning yet on creation day”. Nduagwuike stated.

The highlight of the opening ceremonyv  was the foundation laying ceremony of a multi billion naira computer village edifice,another legacy project by ECCIMA in expectation.
