Peace Corps: Nneji commends NASS for harmonized Bill

The Nigerian senate has been commended for the adoption of the report of the conference Committee which was set up by the two Chambers to harmonise the bill for an Act to establish the Nigeria Peace Corps.

The harmonisation report which has brought the National Unity and Peace Corps and Peace Corps of Nigeria into one umbrella to be known and called Nigeria Peace Corps was in line with the  earlier  version of the bill which had recommended for dissolution of the Peace Corps of Nigeria and the National Unity and Peace Corps and fuse the two names to be one and to be addressed as Nigeria Peace Corps NPC.

Reacting on the committee report, the  Commandant General of the National Unity and Peace Corps, Dr. Chinedu Nneji described the situation as a welcome development and commended the two Chambers and the committee for living up to the expectations of the Nigerian masses in the passage and harmonisation of the two agencies.

Dr. Nneji appealed to the President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the bill  which he said would be of huge benefit to the country.

The Commandant gave kudos to the Nigerian youths that have been engaged in voluntary service to the country over the years through the National Unity and Peace Corps.
