IGP Commissions 88 Residential Apartments In Kano Police Barracks

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Tuesday, commissioned 11 blocks of two-bedroom flats, consisting of 88 residential apartments, at the Bompai police barracks in Kano.

He promised officers and men of Kano state police Command that more welfare packages are underway to improve quality service delivery.

Represented by the retiring Kano state Commissioner of Poloce, Mr. Mamman Dauda, IGP Baba said the residential apartments were constructed by the Nigeria Police Force in Partnership with Vlaar Homes Limited.

According to him: “It is with great pleasure and a sense of responsibility that I address you this morning on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR on this special occasion of the commissioning of Eleven (11) blocks of Two (2) bedrooms flats consisting of Eighty-Eight (88) residential apartments for Police Officers of the Command.

“This is the 1st phase and is initiated by the Inspector-General of Police to improve the welfare of Police Officers and is done in partnership with Vlaar Homes Limited under the public-private Partnership.

” The building which is part of several constructions going on at various locations in the State Command would provide a conducive working environment for officers and men to do the needful in terms of crime prevention and control and maintenance of law and order.

“More accommodations – offices, residential apartments and commercial shops are underway to enhance the welfare and effective/efficient service delivery of officers and men of the Command.

” Finally, I urge the officers that will benefit from these welfare packages to reciprocate by being committed and dedicated to the duties assigned to them, and that will encourage the authorities to do more for the Force.
