22 Years on, Glo commends Nigerians for sustaining democracy

As the nation marks the 22nd anniversary of Democracy Day, commemorating the country’s return to democratic rule in 1999, national telecommunications company, Globacom, has congratulated the people of Nigeria for sustaining the country’s democracy in spite of the challenges along the way.

In a goodwill message, the company congratulated the government and good people of Nigeria for their tenacious commitment to maintaining the structures of democracy despite the many challenges within the polity.

Globacom said the determination among Nigerians to nurture and deepen the democratic experience has ensured that this globally extoled form of governance has taken root in the country in the last twenty two years, adding that all hands must be the deck to ensure that it is sustained.

The company urged Nigerians to continue to uphold the principles of democracy in all they do and say emphasizing the role of peace in the continuous development of the nation. The grand masters of data also urged different levels of government to strive to provide the benefits of democratic rule to the masses of the country.

Restating its commitment to continually invest in the sustainable development of the country, especially Information Communication Technology, Globacom pledged it will continue to lead with innovation and human capacity development on Nigerians as the only indigenous player within the mobile telecommunications industry.
