From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, on Tuesday, declared that recent allegations of electoral violence against him, was orchestrated by his political enemies with the sole aim of killing his political career.

He denied getting involved in any electoral violence during the last presidential and National Assembly elections of February 25, saying that, “I never killed a fly, talkless of human beings.”

Alhassan Ado Doguwa who won the last Saturday supplementary election in Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, said his victory has shamed and humbled his political adversaries.

He attributed his recent victory to, “the will of Allah who gives power to whom he wishes and I have promised to carry every one along. I have passed through one of the most trying moments in my political history.

” My political rivals went all out to hold my jugular and insisted that I shouldn’t be elected to return to the House . They made sure that they painted me black through their malicious propaganda, hate speech, among others and now Allah has ruled otherwise.

“I forgive all those who wronged me and would like to call on them to come forward and assist me in discharging my duties as a representative of the people.”

On his Speakership ambition, he said he would not be in a rush but if he is called upon to contest, he will not hesitate to do so.

” The issue is with my party, once the APC zoned the Speakership post to the North West and my colleaques give me all the necessary support, I will do as they wished . However, if they take it to another zone, I will remain a loyal party man and forge ahead.

” I will be ready to serve even as a messenger to the House if my colleaques feel the position will serve their collective interest.”

He used the opportunity to thank the people of Doguwa and Tudun Wada for their steadfastness and the unalloyed support they accorded him to stage a come back.

He equally thanked the President -elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for their support to see him pass through all the turbulent waters.
