President Bola Tinubu has described the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, as one of the most outstanding and hardworking members of his cabinet.
The President made the remark in a birthday message to the minister, praising his commitment to delivering durable road infrastructure across the country.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended Umahi’s passion for duty, dedication to service and patriotism.
He also urged the minister to sustain the momentum in road construction and rehabilitation in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s objective of improving the quality of life of Nigerians and stimulating economic growth.
The statement recalled that before his appointment as Minister of Works, Umahi represented Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Senate after serving two terms as Governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023, a period during which the state witnessed significant infrastructural development.
The statement quoted the President as saying: “Engineer Umahi has been one of my outstanding, hardworking ministers—passionate about the job and delivering durable roads and bridges that will last for about a century.
“As a minister, he does not just sit in his office or rely on reports from subordinates; he is constantly on the road, personally monitoring construction work nationwide to ensure compliance with specifications and approvals.”
President Tinubu congratulated Umahi and his family on the occasion of his birthday and wished him good health, renewed strength and greater success in his continued service to the nation.
