The Kano State Chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged Nigerians to imbibe the tenets of discipline, perseverance, love and unity in nation building.
This was contained in a statement signed by its Puicity Secretary, Bello Sani Galadanchi, conveying the Eid El Fitr message.
The Statement reads: “The month- long Ramada Fast ended today following the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal 1444 across the Muslim world. Reacting to the development which ushers in Eid el Fitr Friday, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) declared that it was now time for all Nigerians particularly the Muslim Ummah to pay gratitude to Almighty Allah for all the bounties and blessings of the 30-day spiritual engagement.
“Making the declaration on behalf of the Northern Cultural Organization, a member of the Board of Trustees( BOT representing Kano State, retired Brigadier- General Halliru Akilu described Eid Fitr which comes after the fasting as a festival of charity and self- introspection with deep spiritual significance.
“He emphasized the need for all believers to apply the gems of Ramadan into our daily lives, stressing that Muslims and followers of other faiths must always use occasions such as the fasting period to cheer and share happy moments.
“On peaceful coexistence, General Akilu expressed the need for Nigerians irrespective of their backgrounds to amend, forgive and reflect in order to promote national growth.
“According to the former Director of Military Intelligence, rebuilding the social, political and economic structures of the nation was achievable if most Nigerians resolved to put an end to living in stress, and embarked on a journey to reverse the trend.
“He enjoined motorists and other road users to make the best use of the festive season by conducting themselves amicably, while the various road management agencies should execute their duties with modesty and exemplary conduct.”
