NYSC Variety Night: Group tasks Corps Members to embrace entrepreneurship development for self-reliance

A group popularly known as `Kamisafe’, has tasked Corps Members to embrace entrepreneurship for self-reliance after their service year.

They also urged them to advance their social-skills and self-confidence which remains veritable vehicle for opening up opportunities for their survival.

The Country Manager of Kamisafe who also doubles as the Global Digital Marketer, Mr. Mbam Goodluck Ebenezer, gave the advice during the NYSC Variety Night designed for the 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream ‘II’ Corps members at the Permanent Orientation Camp, MacGregor College, Afikpo North LGA of  Ebonyi State.

He explained that the motivating factors in the company revolve around safety, welfare, and happiness on every human being which is their utmost  priority.

Mr. Mbam therefore enjoined the Corps Members to exhibit self-confidence, acquire skills, utilize every opportunity that comes along their way that will make them global entrepreneurs and employers of labour.

He further explained that he had similar opportunity during his time at the NYSC Camp which he utilized very well adding that today, “with the support and sponsorship of Kamisafe, several schools and NYSC Camps across the country have benefited enormously from the products of this company”.

He listed the products as: rechargeable touch light, solar panels, standing fan and hand fan, energy bulb, among others.

“I have two things that are motivating factors: one is that my company has safety, welfare,and happiness on every human being as their priority, and that is why we remain in the business of making life easy and enjoyable for all mankind.

“Our products are affordable which is why you see that we  develop, produce and distribute arrays of alternative energy which tend to put or make energy available to all household, including the poorest of the poor, in the remotest hinterland.

“This is why when we see people happy, we get some satisfaction.

“We are the most youth-friendly company because if you look at the background of our products, there is no student that can say he or she  will do away with our products.

“Consider the implications of a student having exams tomorrow and not having light to read.

“Kamisafe provides an easy and alternative power supply for students and every other person to read.

“When I was a corps member, I had similar opportunity in camp and I know the role it played in my life.

“This is why our company do go to schools or NYSC camp like this to put smiles on the faces of the youths as well as the staff that made it possible for them to have successful camping here.

“This is why you see that all hierarchy of authority here, went home with a prize.

“Also, we do try to encourage people to develop confidence, and this is why every contestant here was able to go with a consolation prize,” he said.

Also speaking, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Bamayi Mercy, noted that the variety night activities are part of the camp orientation course programmes aimed at making Corps Members bond well among themselves.

Represented by the Camp Director, Mr. Ngwoke Nwokoro, she explained that the events were packaged and sponsored by the marketing manager of Kamisafe “is the climax of all the social events in the camp, we started with a dance and drama competitions. 

“They are parts of the orientation course programmes, and I observed that the Corps members were excited unlike in the past, because the events were well packaged and powered by Kamisafe”. 

The variety night featured cultural troops presentations , beauty pageant and Mr. Macho Competition.

On beauty pageant, Miss. Peace Adoga of Platoon 7, took the first position, while Miss. Stephany Adeshoga of Platoon 2, took the second position.

Also, Taofeek Ibrahim of Platoon 2, csme tops as the strongest man in the camp (Mr. Macho).
