ACReSAL National Project Coordinator scores project high

National Project Coordinator, Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), Mr. Abdulhamid Umar has charged staff of the interventionist agency to continue to maintain high standards in the discharge of their duty’s.

The NPC made the call in Abuja on Thursday at a brief get together organized to celebrate the Kogi State Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, who was recently conferred with the national honour of Order of the Niger (OON).

Former President Muhammadu Buhari approved the conferment of special national awards on Barrister Jatto and 338 Nigerians and friends of the country.

Umar said that to maintain the standard so far achieved in the project, awards will be instituted for high performance states, results driven individuals and high performing individuals. This he said will encourage staff to excel and deliver on targets.

In her remarks at the event, Senior Environmental Specialist, World Bank and Task Team Leader, ACReSAL, Joy Iganya Agene urged staff to sustain tempo of their activity across the participating states.

She noted that ACReSAL has a special role in restoring livelihoods of affected communities in the 19 states and FCT.

In her vote of thanks, Barr. Jatto commended the federal government and staff for the honour, saying the award is for the ACReSAL family.

The development objective of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project for Nigeria is to increase the implementation of sustainable landscape management practices in targeted watersheds in northern Nigeria and strengthen Nigeria’s long-term enabling environment for integrated climate-resilient landscape management.
