Regent Secondary School Abuja’s students win top laurels at Cambridge Learner Awards

Four of the 2022 students of one of the best secondary schools in the country, Regent Secondary School, Abuja, have clinched best in Nigeria
Awards at the recently held Cambridge Learner Awards.

A statement issued by the school, expressed delight over the uncommon feat recorded by the students.

It reads : “The Regent Secondary School, Abuja, Nigeria is proud to announce that four of its 2022 Graduates have been recognised during the 2023 Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony.

” These exceptional students achieved outstanding results in the Cambridge June 2022 Examination Series and were awarded at this year’s Cambridge Learner Awards, organised annually by the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

“The event, which took place on 6th July, 2023, at The Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue in Victoria Island, Lagos State, celebrated the candidates from Nigeria who excelled in the June 2022 and November 2022 Cambridge examination series in Nigeria and worldwide.

“Mfonmma-Abasi Okon Bassey received the Top In Nigeria award in the IGCSE category for Art & Design, while Daniel Chiemelie Anohu was awarded Top In Nigeria in the Environmental Management IGCSE category. Khalidah Fatume Amal Doyinsola Usman received the Top In Nigeria award in the History IGCSE category, and Ain Sufiya Binti Mohd Iqbal received the High Achievement award in the Cambridge International AS Level category.

“The Regent Secondary School congratulates these outstanding students on their incredible achievements. These awards are a testament to their unwavering dedication, hard work, and desire to excel. The school has consistently turned-out Top In Nigeria Awardees in many International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level subjects without missing out since 2016. Some of the other awards received by The Regent Secondary School in the course of the years were Overall Best Across Eight Subjects in Nigeria, Overall Best Across 4 AS Subjects, Overall Best Across 3 A Level Subjects and Best in the World Awards.

“The Regent Secondary School is proud to have played a role in supporting these students in their academic journey, and it looks forward to continuing to provide quality education to produce well-rounded leaders who excel both academically and beyond. The school acknowledges the initiatives of the British Council for creating a platform for recognizing achievements and encouragement of the upcoming learners to excel in whatever they do.”

The AUTHORITY reports that The Regent Secondary School was established in 2007 as a British Curriculum school in Abuja.
