Ohanaeze establishes 3 operational zones, 4 in the diaspora

The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Emnanuel Iwuanyanwu, has established three operational zones in Nigeria and four for Igbos living in the diaspora.

A press statement from the office of the National publicity secretary of the organisation, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, made available to The AUTHORITY noted that the chapters are for easy coordination of operations of the organisation.
The  statement reads: “Chief Iwuanyanwu has on assumption of Office as the President General, restructured the Ohanaeze Ndigbo into three zones for Nigeria and four zones for the Diaspora chapters. With the new structure, the 19 states and Abuja will have their headquarters in Abuja; the South-West, with the headquarters in Lagos; and the East with the headquarters at Enugu”.

“The Ohanaeze Diaspora structure has the continent of Europe with the headquarters in London. Others include the continent of North-America and Canada with headquarters in Washington,  DC; the continent of South-America and the Caribbean with headquarters in Brazil; the continent of Asia with headquarters in China; continent of Africa with headquarters in South Africa; continent of Australia and New Zealand and all the surrounding Islands with headquarters in Australia”.

According to him, each of the zones will have at least one convention per year while the Igbo Day celebration which involves all the zones and various chapters will hold on the September 29 of every year.
