Trouble brews in Ahiazu Mbaise APC over election funds

Even as members of All Progressive Congress,APC Imo State chapter are still on the euphoria of celebration for the recent re-election declaration of Senator Hope Uzodimma for second tenure in the just concluded INEC conducted off season governorship election in the State, members of the political party in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA are bemoaning their woes alleging selfish mismanagement of their election funds.

Chief Sampson Agbashiaka, a chieftain of APC in the council area made the outcry while interacting with news men concerning the out come of the election in the area.

Agbashiaka accused Hon, Nnanna Igbokwe, immediate past Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Samuel Otibe, the Law maker representing the council area in the State House of Assembly and Chief Tony Anakani, the council area Sole Administrator of the financial misappropriation.

He also accused them of disbursing the LGA election funds and logistics against the dictates of the State Government and the party, informing that in polling units 6, 10 and 11 of Ihitte Aforukwu in Ogbor/ Umueze ward that the logistics disbursed there is not in tandem with approval and released fund.

The political chieftain employed the State government, the campaign council and the party leadership to probe into how the trio disbursed election funds entrusted into their cares informing that alot of the political party faithfuls are disenchanted.

Otibe equally lamented on the way and manner the ten million Naira (10m) election intervention fund for the council area was managed even as he cried foul play.

He pointed out that if this financial misappropriation and recklessness is unchecked, the Image and integrity of the political party in Ahiazu Mbaise will be battered and responsible people may be frustrated out of the party.

The party chieftain also expressed dismay that 10 bags of rice Governor Uzodimma released as fuel subsidy paliative to each of the polling booth in the State, that polling booths in Ogbor/Umueze ward were shortages as each of the polling booths received only 3 bags.

Otibe informed that these have instituted alot of wranglings, bickering and mudsling among the party loyalists and needs to be addressed.
