Minister of state FCT charges corps members on productivity

By Stellamaries Amuwa,  Abuja

The Minister of state Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has advised corps members to channel their talents and potentials towards enthroning a more united, prosperous and productive nation that will not only focus on consuming but manufacturing too.

The Minister gave this advise at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ stream II orientation course, held at the NYSC FCT permanent orientation camp, in Kubwa Abuja.

She implored corps members to “imbibe the SDG(s) goals and accept your postings in good faith and settle down quickly in order to contribute to the growth of Nigeria. I assure you that every part of FCT is accessible by modern means of affordable transportation and communication.

” Put in your best and future generation will speak well of you. You must distance yourselves from social vices such as cultism and drug abuse.”

Meanwhile,  the Coordinator, NYSC FCT,  Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka congratulated the corps members for their display of discipline, maturity, patriotism, commitment, resilience and loyalty throughout the period of the orientation.

She advised them to carry the same qualities exibited at the orientation camp to their various

places of primary assignments, stating that corps members have been posted according to their areas of discipline and specialization across the six (6) Area councils of the FCT based on the posting policy of the NYSC.

“Let me further emphasize that the welfare of our corps members is paramount to us; Our employers should therefore take this more importantly and ensure judicious utilization of all corps members posted to them. More importantly, we implore our corps employers to be conversant with the NYSC policy and guidelines as this will enable them carry out their functions as expected.

“My motherly appeal to you is to settle down in your respective places of Primary Assignments and contribute your quota to the development of our great nation Nigeria through execution of viable and laudable Community Development Service (CDS) projects.”
