Insecurity: CDS Christopher Musa harps on collective action, citizen’s participation

The Chief of Defence Staff, (CDS) Gen. Christopher Musa has said that security is critical to the growth and survival of the country and requires collective efforts of all the security agencies and Nigerians across the country.

The CDS, said this in his remarks at the official presentation of an award to him by the Global Peace Movement International, UK at his office in Abuja yesterday stressing that the Armed Forces is soliciting the cooperation of all Nigerians in the fight against insurgency, banditry and other forms of insecurity in the country.

Earlier, President General Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr Mike Uyi said the prestigious International peace award of valour and gallantry award was in recognition of his contributions to the fight against banditry, insurgency, and terrorism in Nigeria.

According to Dr Uyi, under the leadership of the CDS, the military has continued its onslaught against all forms of criminality in the country, ensuring that peace is restored to every part of the country.

Dr Uyi also charged Nigerians to continue to support the Armed Forces in their quest to secure the nation from both internal and external threats, noting that security is everybody’s concern.

He also charged the federal government to improve budgetary allocation to the military to ensure that their welfare is prioritised.
