Navy honour’s clergy over service to humanity.

The Nigeria Navy Ship Sagbama in Rivers State has awarded the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere for promotion of peace and service to humanity.

The clergy was yesterday, conferred with the award, alongside certificate of recognition and a Golden ICON medal from the Navy.

The commanding officer Nigeria Navy Ship, Commander EL Ebute conferred the award on at a short ceremony held at the residence of the clergy in port Harcourt.

Speaking, Commander Ebute said the award was “in recognition for his immense contributions to the quality of social crusade, aimed at creating communities of caring people, building apostles of social justice, promotion of peace and tranquility and service to humanity”.

Recalled that Apostle Chinyere’s humanitarian engagements through his foundation, have  touched lives positively.

Through his free school initiatives, many out of school children have gone back to school. His free specialist hospital has contributed immensely in reducing the high rate of maternal mortality in Nigeria. His free estates have accommodated many homeless families. His free skills acquisition center has graduated over 40,000 Nigerians in different vocational skills free of charge.

Also, the clergy’s local and international scholarships scheme has offered over 10,000 Nigerians scholarships,some of whom are currently studying in Cyprus, United States of America, Canada, Turkey, Poland, London and Benin Republic.

Apostle Chinyere also built free school for children Born with Autism and Down Syndrome in port Harcourt. 

Also recalled that the clergy restored peace and security in Rivers State through the collaborative efforts of the Rivers State government and Nigerian police by creating an enabling environment where armed Robbers, kidnappers, cultist etc comes to his church and surrender their arms and ammunition which he hands over to the police while he takes the responsibilities of rehabilitating them to become useful people in the society.
