Gunmen abduct 10 in Abuja Estate

Gunmen have stormed Sagwari layout Estate in Dutse area in Abuja and abducted 10 persons.

Eyewitnesses said the abductors appeared in form of herders and invaded the estate late Sunday.

According to them, eight persons were kidnapped from the estate, while two members of staff were abducted from a nearby hotel.

A victim who sent a distress message to the estate’s WhatsApp group, had said his family was in danger before he stopped responding to messages a few minutes later.

Security operatives have been reported to already been mobilised by the Estate management are working with the estate guards to search the hills behind the estate.

Efforts to reach FCT Police command’s Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh failed as she neither respond nor return calls put to her.

However, a call placed on the Police emergency call centre, revealed that the command was aware of the incident, and the closest DPO had been informed to mobilise men to the scene.
