Trade Ministry Perm Sec vows to achieve Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

* As Minister hails Gov Abiodun for industrialisation revolution

The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Amb. Nura Abba Rimi has assumed duties with a promise to achieve President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda (RHA),  through teamwork.

This is just as the Minister, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, praised Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State for his successful industrial revolution initiative.

These were contained in recent separate press releases from the Ministry signed by Ozokwelu Nonye N. and Edet Ekpenyong for the Director, Press and Public Relations.

Stating that the Ministry is central to the RHA of the present administration’s 8-Point Agenda, of which six out of the 8 are domiciled in the Ministry, Rimi said they would look at the Ministry as very central and key to the implementation of the agenda, even as he implored the Directors to work as a team to implement the policies of the Federal Government (FG).

 He however noted that said it is one of the Ministry’s mandates to put an end to poverty in the country, while pledging to ensure that its achievement to a great level.

While welcoming him earlier, on behalf of the Directors and Management staff of the Ministry, the Director, Human Resources, Dr. Mimi Abu assured him of  their maximum support toward achieving the Ministry’s primary set objectives.

Meanwhile, hailing the Ogun state for success in industrialisation revolution in another development initiative, the Minister, Dr Doris Uzoka – Anite noted that the initiative has resulted in job creation, improved security, and a conducive environment for industrial growth and increased investment in the state. 

She made the commendation at a recent visit to the government house, Abeokuta, as part of an investment drive in Ogun state.

She disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to promote industrialization and assure existing industries that the current administration is committed to removing obstacles that hinder business development in the country.

At the inauguration of a new plant and expansion of another one by Tropical General Investment Group (TGI), the Minister pledged unwavering support to the industry, ensuring its ability to expand to maximum capacity, promising to personally attend the re-commissioning of a new plant, just as she underscored the crucial role of steel industries in the industrial development of nations.Noticing that steel businesses have recognised infrastructure shortfall, security difficulties, and high cost of gas as significant obstacles impeding the industrialization process in the nation, the Minister, however, urged them to utilise the tax credit programme to further the development of the road, in collaboration with other enterprises situated in the vicinity.
