…CP FCT assures of robust security

The victims who were kidnapped at Zuma 1 Area of Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on January 2, 2024, have regained their freedom. They have since been reunited with their families.
This is following the relentless advancement of the Federal Capital Territory FCT) Police Command Anti-Kidnapping squad in collaboration with troops of the Nigerian Army.
In a statement by the Command Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh (SP), the kidnapped victims were rescued around Kajuru forest in Kaduna state at about 11:30 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
The statement quoted the FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Haruna Garba, as applauding the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, for the deployment of the newly commissioned Special Intervention Squad, which, according to him, has given an uplift to the existing security architecture of the FCT and brewed public confidence.
The CP reiterated the Commands commitment to sustaining the robust security deployment made in the area and other parts of the Territory for the utmost maintenance of peace for all and sundry.
CP Haruna, therefore, encouraged the residents of the FCT to take advantage of the emergency contact numbers provided by the police to promptly report any suspicious movement(s) in their environment.
