National Assembly: Akarachi gives account of stewardship

It was democracy in action as Hon. Akarachi Amadi, the member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives assembled all the critical stakeholders of the federal constituency in his father’s Eziama Ikeduru ancestral home and rendered account of his stewardship for the 8 months so far he has been in the National Assembly.

It was a reeled out of verifiable achievements as Akarachi christened the constituency briefing ” Let me talk to my Mbaike people today, my journey so far at the National Assembly”, expressed gratitude for the enormous love and confidence the constituents have shown him, reiterated the need not to disappoint them.

The constituents where also overwhelmed with joy seeing trailer loads of rice, condiments etc which the youthful Law maker told them that it’s their palliatives from the Federal Government even though he augmented it so that they could have enough and rolled out the modalities for the immediate sharing among the 24 INEC wards that constituted the federal constituency.

He pointed out that, “being a Law marker is about representation in national discussions, bills, motion passages, or attraction of
projects, but however, it’s more about Impact, Capacity, and Fellowship to one another”.

The Engineer turned politician further observed that the essence of earning the people’s trust and confidence in voting him as their representative is for them to enjoy quality representation and a voice in the nation’s capital as it concerns their yearning and urgent needs.

“To make sure our motions or bills, no matter what the case may be or motion we support or sponsor, the interest of Ikeduru/Mbaitoli and Nigeria must be paramount and will be considered first in all we will do in the next four years” he assured.

Among the bills he have presented, which are at different levels of readings are:
Nigerian Institute or Center for Vocational Training and Certification (Establishment) Bill, 2023 (HB.543) (Hon. Akarachi E.T. Amadi)- First Reading, Federal College of Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition, Mbaitoli, Imo State (Establishment) Bill, 2023, (HB.542)(Hon Akarachi E.T. Amadi) – First Reading,Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency Act (Amendment) Bill, 2023, (HB.729)(HON. Akarachi E. T. Amadi) – First Reading.

Others include; National Football Academy, Mbaitoli, Imo State (Establishment) Bill, 2023 (HB.730) (Hon. Akarachi E.T. Amadi) – First Reading, Bill for an Act to Amend the Border Communities Development Agency Act Cap B10, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 (Establishment) and for other related matters. (Hon. Akarachi E.T. Amadi) – First Reading.

Akarachi also informed that he have five bills ready for presentation upon resumption of the House with effect from 31st January 2024, with a motion for the Aviation Industry to be prompt in taking positive steps in ensuring and reassuring Nigerians that All private and public commercial Aircraft are Safe, Secure and Equipped with latest Avionics.

The Law maker further gave insights in his revolutionary attraction of infrastructural developments for the federal constituency especially in the areas of rural roads construction and rehabilitations, qualitative educational standards and scholarships, ecological issues and human capacity building among other democratic dividends.

He assured of holding the constituency briefing every quarter of the year and to include diasporan constituents in the briefing as principal stakeholders.

Akarachi informed of his programs and projects plans for the Constituency in the coming months which includes; light up of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru project,Mbaitoli/Ikeduru scale erosion project,Mbaitoli/Ikeduru water for all project, Mbaitoli/Ikeduru halls and market intervention project and Mbaitoli/Ikeduru rural roads intervention project.

Among eminent personalities who spoke on behalf of the entire constituents were Barr. Marcellinus Nlemigbo(Marcon), Hon Osmond Ukanacho, Hon.Uche Oguwuike and Hon. Innocent Ikpamezi all commended his zeal, patriotism and wisdom in running the affairs of the federal constituency and enjoined him not to relent.
