The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa on Tuesday restated the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies to bringing lasting peace in the country.
Acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau in a press release said the CDS stated this when he paid a courtesy call to the Chairman Federal Inland Revenue Services ( FIRS), Dr Zacch Adedeji.
“The visit according to the CDS, was to officially congratulate the Chairman FIRS for his deserving appointment by the President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
“General Musa said his visit is to further show the AFN commitments to ensuring the safety of life and property in the country. He added that the Armed Forces will ensure FIRS do its work without encumbrances.
“The CDS informed the Chairman FIRS that the AFN is working in collaboration with other security agencies to bring lasting peace to the country. He maintained that taxation brings awareness and development to the nation.
“Responding, the Chairman Federal Inland Revenue describes the AFN as a highly discipline service and critical partners in taxation in the country. Dr Adedeji said the FIRS need the services of the Military to be able to perform their duties without much hindrances. He also said the welfare of the military is a top priority for Mr President. He finally thanked the CDS and the entire AFN for their crucial support to the FIRS.”
