NAPS Confers Excellence Award on Chief Msuaan, MON. as Icon of Hope

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has said honouring its Alumni that have distinguished themselves both in public and private life as it’s modest way of encouraging hardwork and excellence.

National President of NAPS, Comrade Ridwan Opeyemi Munirudeen stated this in Abuja on Thursday while conferring one of it’s alumni Chief Michael Msuaan, MON. with the Icon of Hope Award. He explained that the awardee has over the years demonstrated high sense of competence in carrying out state and private responsibilities.

The ceremony took place during the inauguration of Executive Council/Senate Arm of NAPS, 2023/2024 Session and lecture presentation at the Merit House in Abuja.

The theme of this year’s NAPS inauguration programme was; ‘The Role of Technology in Building a Formidable Economic Growth in Nigeria from Consumers to Producers’.

In his welcome speech at the occasion, the NAPS President, Comrade Ridwan Opeyemi Munirudeen thanked all participants and dignitaries especially the awardees for finding time out of their busy schedules to honour the invitation.

He maintained that, “their presence was an indication that they value education and the power of youth leadership as a catalyst to change and sustainable development”.

Comrade Ridwan Opeyemi Munirudeen described Chief Msuaan, MON. “as a worthy Alumni and ambassador who has distinguished himself through diligent service in every national assignment as well as in his private life as Nigerian citizen”.

According to them, they have watched with pride the efforts of Chief Msuaan, MON. in supporting indigent students with scholarships and the less privilege in society. Also, the jobs he has secured for several people in Federal government Parastatals and in the military and Para-military services in the country.

Comrade Munirudeen stated that they were proud that the Federal government found Chief Msuaan, MON. worthy to confer a special National Merit Award of Member of the Order of the Niger, MON. on him.

In his vote of thanks, the elated Chief Michael Msuaan, MON. thanked the organisers for finding him worthy of the award and pledged to continue “upholding the ideals of NAPS through patriotic stewardship and service to the nation”.

“He maintained that, as a proud product of the Polytechnic system, he shall continue to be a good Ambassador of the system and justify the confidence that propelled the association to confer such honour on him”

Chief Msuaan, MON. is a graduate of the prestigious Kaduna Polytechnic Kaduna and served as a pioneer member of the governing council of the Federal Polytechnic Wannune, Benue State.

The ceremony had dignitaries across the country in attendance as well as student representative from all Polytechnics in Nigeria.

High points of the occasion included a lecture presentation, the inauguration of the National Executives of NAPS for the current session and giving of awards to deserving members of the public.
