Nigerians are Hungry, NYCN tells Tinubu, passes vote of confidence on Amb. Sukubo

The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to speed up economic policies that will ameliorate the hardship currently experienced by Nigerians.

Amb. Sukubo, the President of the apex Youth body in Nigeria, made this known while addressing the media on Friday. According to him, “Nigerians are hungry and Nigerians are angry; a hungry man is an angry man. We call on the President and the state Governors to roll out programs and policies that will resolve the economic and security challenges in our dear nation”.

Sukubo however beckoned on Nigerians, especially the Youth, to be patient with the government as it strives to ensure that the current untold hardship, orchestrated by the fuel subsidy removal, is mitigated within a shortest period. He enjoined the Nigerian Youth not to embark on any protest or join any planned protests against the federal government. He equally noted that some unpatriotic Nigerians are capitalizing on the erratic exchange rate and inflation to exploit fellow citizens. According to him, “sometimes, it is not only the authorities that cause our problems, even we the citizens are taking advantage of what is happening in our society to undo our dear fellow citizens”.

The National Deputy Secretary General of NYCN, Comrade Rikki Nwajiofor, while reading out the communique of the National Management Committee of NYCN, noted that the National Management Committee passed a vote of confidence on Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo as the President of NYCN. The communique equally stated that Akoshile Mukhtar; Dotun Omoloye; Bashir Garba; Smart Uwakwe; Zaka Nehemiah; Izunna Agwuncha; Ibrahim Inuwa Dangata; Aminu Ubale Funtua; Blessing Onne Okwe; and Clinton Avwoke have been expelled from the NYCN for breaching some sections of the NYCN 2018 constitution as amended.

The communique of the National Management Committee of NYCN equally declared that the award of GRAND COMMANDER OF THE NIGERIAN YOUTH (GCNY) conferred on Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, did not emanate from the leadership of NYCN. It states, “as it stands today, the only GRAND COMMANDER OF THE NIGERIAN YOUTH is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Management categorically stated that the award given to the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, by some money-loving Youth in the name of NYCN, is fake and invalid. Management recalled that he had earlier been awarded the DOYEN OF NIGERIAN YOUTH, and he remains so”.

Part of the communique reads;

“National Management Committee also passed a vote of implicit confidence on the current leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) led by Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo as the President and the following members of the National Executive Council (NEC): Amb. Innocent Nduanya, Comrade Kabiru Yusuf, Comrade Amosu Kazeem Oluwatomi, Comrade Otunba Eniola Tope, Comrade Innocent Ajayi, Comrade Bishop Douglas, Comrade Abubakar Suleiman Esq, Comrade Rikki Chinedu Nwajiofor, Comrade Nnamdi Ezemagu, Comrade Jimoh-Giwa Ayyub Akinola, Comrade Abdulrahman Olawale, Comrade Ghazali Ungogo, Comrade Olugbode Damola, Comrade Ukoh Michael
Comrade Irene Elon Mokwa.

“Management unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the following members of the National Executive Council (NEC), having violated the provisions of the NYCN 2018 Constitution, as amended, especially Article 21:
Comrade Akoshile Mukhtar Adeola; Comrade Dotun Omoloye, Comrade Bashir Garba
Comrade Smart Uwakwe, Comrade Zaka Nehemiah, Comrade Izunna Agwuncha
Comrade Ibrahim Inuwa Dangata, Comrade Aminu Ubale Funtua, Comrade Blessing Onne Okwe, Comrade Clinton Avwoke.

Having passed a vote of no confidence on the above mentioned NEC members, the National Management Committee thereafter expelled them from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in accordance with the provisions of the NYCN 2018 constitution, as amended.

“The National Management Committee reaffirmed that the Award of the GRAND COMMANDER OF THE NIGERIAN YOUTH (GCNY) is constitutionally solely reserved for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As it stands today, the only GRAND COMMANDER OF THE NIGERIAN YOUTH is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Management categorically stated that the award given to the Former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, by some money-loving Youth in the name of NYCN is fake and invalid. That the Management recalled that he had earlier been awarded the DOYEN OF NIGERIAN YOUTH, and he remains so.”
