The Abuja Municipal Area Council has begun the construction of Local Education Authority (LEA) primary school in Bagusa community.
Chairman of the council Christopher Maikalangu on Tuesday during on the spot assessment of the school which the work is to commence in few days, said the project was long overdue.
Maikalangu who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Emeka Orji with other aides to the site, explained that the council has concluded plans to follow up the construction of the primary school in faces which he said include temporary construction to enable the pupils commence their up coming examination this week and also to build a standard blocks primary school to the community.
He noted that the council will liase with the FCT Universal Basic Education Board to actualize the entire architectural design and the bill of quantities of the building.
Maikalangu assured that his administration will continue to pay more attention in the area of education and other programmes that will Make life more meaningful to the citizens of AMAC.
On his part, village head of Bagusa Community Chief Zakka iyah thanked AMAC chairman for helping the community.
“This is the first time an elected Chairman has come to our aid immediately we cried out, our children will forever be grateful to Maikalangu because he did what other past chairmen could not do for us and we pray God to guide and keep him”
The supervisory Councillor for works, Dantani Zadna said AMAC engineers are already on the site to ensure that the directive of the chairman is implemented.
On his part, the Councilor representing Gwagwa ward Hon, Umar kaura advised residents of the community to always verify information seen on social media
