FCTA workers: Tinubu, Wike have restored our hope

The Head of Service, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Dr Samuel Atang has said President Bola Tinubu through the Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike have renewed hope of the over 8,000 staff.

He stated this during his 60th birthday celebration on March 27, organized in his honour, recently.

Atang stated that from not being able to produce one permanent secretary, the FCT Administration has transformed into boasting of one head of service and ten permanent secretaries.

The pioneer head of service noted that the staff of the Administration have never had it so good, stressing that with the ventilation in the new FCTA system, every staff was a potential permanent secretary and head of service.

He disclosed that issues of staff welfare were paramount to the FCT Minister, revealing that he (Wike) wasted no time in approving promotion of over 8,000 staff carried in the exercise of 2023.

Atang also listed other commendable actions taken by the Minister which have given the staff hope, including granting of approval to en-longation of service to nursing teachers, as well as for the payment of all outstanding allowances.

In a goodwill message, a former Senior Special Assistant to immediate past-FCT Minister, Ikharo Attah called on the directors to close ranks and work for the overall success of the Administration.

Attah advised them to take the elevation of the head of service as an act of God, stressing that power was only from God, adding that with the large openings, they took would get elevated, even as he urged them against keeping of files so as to accelerate development of the Territory.

Acting Director, Reformed Coordination and Service Improvement, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, in her welcome message earlier, stated that the staff were overjoyed with Wike’s life-transforming changes.
