By Daniel Tyokua

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike said he is not distracted by the political happenings in Rivers state.

Speaking after inspection of some ongoing projects in the Federal Capital City on Friday, he said his focus as minister of FCT was to deliver projects.

Rivers state is engulfed in crisis between those loyal to the minister who served as Governor of the state for eight years, and the camp of his godson and current Governor of the state, Siminalyi Fubara.

Wike said multiple projects are lined up for inauguration in the territory to mark President Bola Tinubu one year in office, May 29.

He revealed that nine days will be used for inauguration of the projects, tagged ‘FCT week of projects’ starting from May 29th – June 6th.

Wike said, “by the approval of Mr President, we believe that from May 27, we shall start the inauguration of various projects. We will also flag off the commercial operation of Abuja Metroline.

“We are ready for the projects commissioning, the only day that we will not commission project is May 29, because is the one year in office of the president and we have a lot of activities.

“We are happy because the contractors are meeting up with the promise, and we on our own part we are meeting up because there is cash backup, non of them is complaining about cash.

“I’m not distracted by happenings in Rivers, I focus on my works as the Minister of FCT. I am not interested, the works are going on, so how can I be distracted? if I am destructed how can I be inspecting project. I don’t think about it at all”
