Women under the umbrella of National Association of Traders (NANT) Federal Capital Territory chapter, has urged government, cooperate organisations and individuals to do more in promoting children’s welfare in the country.
Ambassador Rachael Adewumi, leader of the women wing, spoke on the instance of 2024 children’s day celebration on Monday in the Nation’s capital, Abuja.
The women traders made the cases for welfares of the children while marking the 2024 Children’s Day in the nation’s capital on Monday.
She called for more collaborative efforts in children’s upbringing, which according to her, wil help in producing better leaders.
Children’s Day is marked on the 27th of May every year in Nigeria, this year’s theme is, “Protecting the Nigerian Child from the Dangers of Online Technology,” which attracts competitions from secondary and primary school children.
The programme is sponsored by a software company, the SystemSpec Limited in Abuja, as a Corporate Social Responsibility, with different prizes.
Mrs Adewumi commended for the SystemSpec for the good gestures, by sponsoring the essay competitions for school children across the country.
She, therefore appealed to private and public companies, private and public organisations and corporate bodies to emulate the SystemSpec in encouraging children’s education through the essay competitions.
